The PALEVOPRIM laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research focused on the study of ancient primate ecosystems, which requires a wide range of tools and technical expertise in the fields of life and Earth sciences.

3D Imaging

3D image processing is now at the heart of our discipline, both in terms of collecting raw data and in terms of shape analysis.

Digital microscopy

These microscopy systems are dedicated to the study and photographic imaging of small fossil specimens (less than 5 mm in size).

Confocal microscopy

This equipment allows us to capture 3D images of dental enamel surfaces at micrometric scales in order to quantify tooth wear.

3D scanning

Surface-based 3D scanning consists of virtually capturing the external envelope of an object in three dimensions.

3D printing

The applications of 3D printing offer multiple advantages for scientific research, collections, teaching, and the dissemination of knowledge.

Paleomagnetism

Thanks to a fully equipped technical platform, the laboratory has the capability to conduct paleomagnetic analyses on case studies linked to our fieldwork campaigns.
