Description

  • Confocal profilometer Leica DCM-8 (Leica Microsystems)

The Leica DCM8, combining interferometric and confocal microscopy acquisition modes, enables surface imaging at submicrometre resolution in X and Y, with nanometre-scale repeatability in Z.

Activities

ChatGPT a dit : This equipment enables us to capture the 3D surfaces of dental enamel at micrometre scales in order to quantify dental wear. It is coupled with a surface processing and analysis workstation, including software such as LeicaMap. Applications to a wide range of material surfaces are also possible, including butchery marks on bone, chipped stone tools, and other archaeological and palaeontological surfaces.

Research project: ANR DIET-Scratches, ANR Splash, ANR Diet-Prime

Funding

Funding from the CNRS and the ANR Jeune Chercheur programme. (ANR-13-JSV7-0008).
