Description

Thanks to a comprehensive suite of equipment, the laboratory is able to conduct paleomagnetic analyses on case studies associated with our field campaigns. These analyses focus on reversals of the Earth’s magnetic field that have punctuated the planet’s history. The application of these analyses to stratigraphic and geological studies—magnetostratigraphy—is an essential tool in our work to determine the age of fossil-bearing sites.

Funding

These pieces of equipment were acquired through co-funding from the CNRS and the Poitou-Charentes Region.
