xavier.valentin[at]univ-poitiers.fr Main mission I am responsible for the fossil specimen preparation and casting workshop. I also take part in field expeditions. Activities I am an expert and trainer in advanced casting techniques, as well as in fossil preparation and extraction, including screen washing and fossil sorting. I restore specimens from the laboratory’s collections and produce osteological mounts for training and educational purposes. I am responsible for managing the laboratory’s mold collection. In the field, I contribute to the preparation and safety of excavation sites, assist in identifying fossil-bearing strata, and recover fossil specimens using techniques such as screen washing and plaster jacketing. Contribution to research Alongside my research support activities described above, I conduct my own research on paleontological sites in the region and in southern France, particularly at Mesozoic localities.
