Main research question

The aim of my research is to identify, in catarrhine primates, the phases of initial radiation and the relative rates of morphological change over time, and to interpret these signals within adaptive and/or stochastic frameworks. Are the trajectories of morphological variation similar across all catarrhine primates over the last 30 million years?

Topics of study

My research focuses on the analysis of the occlusal structure (e.g., crests, cusps, crenulations, enamel thickness) of primate molars, which carries strong functional and phylogenetic signals.

Using models of catarrhine primate molars, 3D topographic and geometric morphometric analyses will be carried out and integrated into evolutionary models (BM, OU or EB).
