zoe.nowicki[at]univ-poitiers.fr Main research question The objectives of my PhD is to determine, based on extant and fossil long bones, a pattern of co-variation of form-function traits in order to understand the evolution and the diversity of the hominin locomotion. Topics of study Locomotion and its diversity among hominin using an integrative approach. My project includes : the description of original Ethiopian fossil material; analysis of the co-variation between and within upper & hind limbs of fossil hominids (African and Eurasian) in the frame of their ecological and behavioral contexts; analysis of the patterns of co-variation in the context of ontogeny and the acquisition of an autonomous locomotion during the development.
