Main research question
My research focuses on the evolution and ecology of fossil and extant cercopithecid monkeys.
Topics of study
I aim to understand, through morphometric analyses, the relationships between their skeletal anatomy and ecological traits. More specifically, I investigate their substrate preferences and locomotor behaviours based on postcranial anatomy.
Within my research, this form–function approach, grounded in the conceptual framework of ecomorphology, is applied to the fossil record of African cercopithecids spanning the last 15 million years in Central and East Africa. This approach seeks to identify the selective pressures that led to the emergence of the ecological traits observed in extant cercopithecids.
